Planning trip from Canada - need road advise
planning a trip this summer. will be staying in Bryson City doing 4 loops.
One loop we are taking US 28 to Highlands then debating after seeing Bridal Veil falls if should continue on US 64 to Rosman or is it too busy with all those golf courses?
is it better in Highlands to take US 28 south all the way to South Carolina to West Union then 183 east to Pickens then north on 178 back to 64 in Rosman to 276 north to Waynesville and back to Bryson City or instead in Highlands continue on 64 to Rosman then south on 178 in S. C. until 11 east NC then 276 north to Brevard all the way to Waynesville and back to Bryson City.
Also for other roads would you recommend:
US 441/107 from Bryson City to Cashiers.
US 215 from Rosman to Canton
Cades Cove (Parson Branch rd)
I have already planned the Dragon, US 28, Cherohala Skyway, US 321, US 70
US 209, US 1310, US 28, US 441, Foothills pky, US 68, US 60 S.C. Wolf Pen Gap.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Re: Planning trip from Canada - need road advise
I would recomend turning on Walnut creek just south of franklin, to Norton, to 107. there is a short connector south of 64 on 107 just over the SC state line over to 130. From 130/11 you are only about 10 miles from 178.
the section of 28 with braidal vail and dry falls is usualy filled with slow moving trafic. passing is difficult and dangerous along this section of road.
