Matter of fact, the exact same tanker that brought us gas at the Shell station stopped at the BP on the corner of Laurens Rd and Butler Rd. Because of this experience, I sometimes take the brand of gas in the fuel tanks at the convenience store with a grain of salt.

On the opposite side of any potential argument, my grandfather owned a Texaco station in 1962 and a Standard Oil/Amoco station from 1963 and into the 1990's. I know in the 1970s-80s he always got his gas from a local distributer that was a part of the Standard Oil/Amoco company. It was probably a little convenient knowing that the refinery was about 45 miles away (this is outside of the Chicagoland area).

BTW, both gas stations are now gone. The Shell is a strip mall and the BP is now across the street at that intersection.
