Default Benson has Crashed...

I was on a backroad in SC on my way home rt75 in Van Wycke right near the rt 5, I was flying up to and setting up to pass a small white Geo Prism over the DY and just as I started go, she put on her left blinker and hit the brakes to pull into her driveway.

I got on the front brake and the front end just tucked, and I was done.

The bike slid about 100+ feet, hit nothing, and ended up in the soft dirt on the side of the road.

Unfortunately, I slid right into the back of her car and impacted with my left thigh and lower back.

It was one hell of a hard hit too.

I'm in some real agony, but as far as I can tell I'm in relatively one piece. (At least after the 2 pain pills and five beers)

Please everyone, learn from my mistake. Don't be as stupid as me...

I must really be one hell of a lucky sum bitch...

Peter(916sp), his wife Silvia, and Dave (DDay) came and rescued my bike in short order, and got it back to my house. They also really cheered me up, I owe them all a hardy cheers and thanks!
I think they all braved Pineville traffic, at rush hour, to do it too.

Front Fender...

Right bar....

Engine...

Exhaust....

WallsOverall...

Knee pads....

HJC....

Left Thigh...

This is the inside of my right knee, right at the Prosthiesis interface, the skin overlapped the plastic and was pinched, causing the wound. I'm debating if this needs to be stiched up....?

Check out the right arm of my jacket and the Alpinestars SPW gloves.

All my gear did good, I'm especially glad that my jacket had a back pad.

Elbow pad in that jacket earned it's keep today...

Wholly shit!

Did you go to the hospital?

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but how bad is the bike?

I skipped the Hopital.

The bike seems ok considering what it went through, just rashed up a bit, the throttle tube is cracked and the right peg is broken. It started up on scene and was fine.

You always find a lot of little nicks and scrapes on a bike though, in bizzare places, after something like this. I'm sure I'll find a few once I start cleaning and going over the bike.

Dude, I'm glad your ok. Heal up so you can get back on the road.

Folks, lets be careful out there. Passing on a two lane road with driveways can be guesswork. I've been behind people that actually "See" me in their rear view mirror and signal their intentions well in advance and I've also seen the morons like this who signal too late or worse, who don't signal at all.

Anyway, sounds like you had some great help. It's always good to have friends that will go out of their way to help ya.

I'm just glad you were wearing gear Benson, some of the fools I've seen riding would be in a lot worse shape.

We all learn from our mistakes, I hope. Heal up quickly bro.

Its a damn good thing you had on your gear on. That shin guard saved your knee. That does look like it might need stitch bro, kinda gaipping wide open with that piece of flesh hangin out is downright nasty. The carhardt pants did a suprisingly great job holding up. Heal up soon, bro, and remember -- riding is therapy and the best way to heal.

btw - Benson is so fast when he grabs the front brake he hits the pavement.
