Default doggett mountain and 209

I went and rode dogget mountain (sp) and then 209 up into hot springs yesterday and what a ride. Man am I luvin this new bandit 1200. Its been a switch since I came off an sv 650. but the more I push this thing the better it gets. I looked at my chicken strips after the ride and some of them had disappeared. wooohooo! Of course we had an oh S##T moment when we all opened it up on one of the last straits before hot springs. As I opened it up to pass a car and catch up to the group I look over and theres a sherriffs car on the side of the road. I was the slowest one in just over triple digits, but hey god protects fools and children. The car was empty. Whew. We rode ahead of the rain most of the day, but waited out a serious pore at the paddlers pub. The guys I were with were some extremely fast individuals, and I thought I would hold them back. and while I probably did a little it really helped to have someone to keep up with while not stretching too far outside my comfort zone. I was a bit skeptical considering their advanced riding ability at first and not knowing them, but was pleasantly surprised. they had awesome group riding skills, communicated both turns, but more importantly road hazards extremely well. For their part the front two stopped often to allow the two slower of us to catch up. And Im pretty sure the guy leading me was staying slow not only becuase he had a brand new passenger but also to allow me to keep up.

For the diverse community motorcycling is, especially here, the common sense of ethos that transcends socio or economic station is what its all about. All I can say is what a wonderful day.

Sounds nice man, I love that last little bit of 209 just before HS (except for all the damn guardrail). I had a great ride yesterday too, me and the fiance went for 22miles on our roadbikes. She's gotten really fast now and has figured out how to draft me to save her energy. What a cool feeling to be flying down the road at 30plus mph (it's all relative) with another bike just two feet off your rear wheel and it being your significant-other to boot.
